App for i-phone but alternatives available for droids! *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2015* Despite not having access to it's intended phone-app, this product works okay!I've always been oddly fascinated by heartbeats, and thought this would be a neat gadget to play around with, using my phone. To that end it seems to work alright!The device looks pretty much like a stethoscope-head, but it doesn't seem like it's all that powerful on it's own, and requires an app with sound amplification to make a decent recording, and seems to only have good results in certain locations, mostly the apex. If you intended to do a full tour, it might not be right choice.I can't speak to the App developed by HeartBuds LLC as it's for i-Phone only, and I do not own an one. Fortunately, and surprisingly, it seems to work okay with audio recording apps available for my Droid Turbo. The one that worked best for me is an auscultation app, that amplifies recorded sound. Fiddling with the filters, and keeping the device on my apex, yielded decent results.I don't know if this product will have a better or worse time with different body types or genders, but I imagine the application would be about the same.TL/DR: It works okay, but requires an app to get a good recording.
