A: It should.  It appears the adapter plug and the plug on the HX400is hand microphone are the same.

**Q: Is this compatible to connect my yaesu FT-270R to kenwood/baofeng 2 pin connectors on speaker/mics and headsets?**
A: Yes, some 2-pin "Icom" style speakermics "may" work thru this adapter, but at that point I would suggest getting the correct Speakermic - either the MH-57A4b, the CMP460 , or the MH-73A4B, no need for adapter.
