## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a polaris ranger 700 with a 2" receiver. will rthis unit work with my utv as it is or do i need a hitch adapter?**
A: This fits any standard 2" receiver and comes with hitch pins. This will plug into your hitch, the issue is if your hitch is strongly reinforced, most utv hitches are. The one with a hitch adapter is basically a very strong 2" receiver that you bolt to your vehicle, which is universal and comes with various hardware. Best thing to do is look at your hitch and how it's welded and reinforced this puts a lot of upward pressure on the receiver. I had a cheap receiver on my 4 wheeler and it bent upward. I put a stronger receiver on and it worked perfectly, so look at how the top of your receiver is reinforced and if it could easily bend upward. I found that the best way to use this with the least stress on your hitch is to wait a day or two after a light rain where the soil is damp but not wet. Start by backing up on 1 two by four and adjust plow even with soil so that when you pull off you have 2" of pressure on discs. Once soil is loosened you can add more pressure if desired. The key is to take your time with the downward pressure. This works great, I started with chest high grass and within 45 min it looked like a tractor plowed the soil.

**Q: Does this also work with a 1 1/4 hitch receiver?**
A: No. If you buy the one with the kit it has adapters and all the parts needed to re-enforce your hitch to take the stress that these put on them. 1 1/4 is too small of a hitch. Re-enforced 2" is required

**Q: I have 2022 Cfmoto 500 4wd . Do you think it can handle it ?**
A: we used an articat 500 4 wheel drive. if the soil hasn’t been broke yet the disc is worthless. if it’s sandy and open it works.
You can’t get enough weight on it to dig and when you do it tears up the hitch on the wheeler.
There are other and better discs out there.

**Q: Will this work with a troy buit riding mower(500cc)**
A: Not well. You have to ride aggressive for it to work. I don't think that would be possible on a riding mower

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You need a good 2" receiver hitch
*by T***L on November 1, 2016*

This thing is the bomb as long as you know it's limitations. You need a good 2" receiver hitch. I have a 2015 foreman with just a ball, so I installed a hitch from strongmade. You need 4wd. I got this thing stuck on level ground and couldn't get it out until I put it in 4wd, then it just walked away. My atv is air cooled.. I don't think it's required, but I would check your temps while disking if yours isn't... just to be safe.As long as your atv meets the above needs, you're good to go. I've had this for 6 months now and put two plots in my backyard and 4 at my lease. It does work best if you can kill the grass and overgrowth first. It will eventually turn it into mulch, but it will take a while. It also works at slow speed but if you can get moving, say over 15mph, it will really tear things up quickly. It will throw a rooster tail of loose dirt behind you if you get over 15mph. I've been successful doing a few runs at a medium setting then cranking it down when I know I won't hit a stump. Then it really grinds the dirt up well. It almost feels like your back end is floating when it's all the way down, but it does indeed work and hasn't come close to damaging my 4 wheeler! It will skip over rocks and tear up roots just like a tractor, but I do walk it first just to make sure there isn't a big stump or a huge rock. If the ground has been previously worked by a tractor, it's even better. The only con, for which I did not deduct a star, is that it will only disk the width of the plow, not the 4 wheeler. You can't get right up to trees or obstacles like a tractor with a harrow. If you're disking timber cuts or straight lanes you'll wish for a few extra inches, but it's obvious from looking at it what it can do. It will get you 2 inches of loose dirt though. It also works in reverse, which is cool. But again, in reverse you can't get the speed up to really rip things up. It's more of a set up for your next pass without having to take off the disk. For the money, this thing is awesome. Honestly, I figured I would either break it or my 4wheeler by now, but it's just fine. I've had rocks stuck in the disks, but just pulled them out and got on with it. I think I could beat on it 2x as hard and neither it nor my 4wheeler would even notice. Very cool product. Well worth the money, but I do think you really need 4wd on your atv to ensure you don't get stuck. If your atv is only 2wd I would ensure I had a backup plan for extrication.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for small flower beds & gardening

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works awesome
*by C***N on April 28, 2022*

I had a dilemma on wether to buy a small tractor and disc, harrow and cultipacker. Or should I purchase one of those over $5000 do it all contraptions and pull it behind my side by side? I already had the side by side for hunting and if there was some way to use it effectively to plant food plots then that is what I wanted to do. But I was skeptical about the over $5000 multitasking planters. Shouldn’t there be a cheaper way to put in a food plot? Then while doing my research I ran into the Groundhog ATV/UTV disc. I was skeptical but watched the videos of the guys using it and it seemed simple enough. It is a good simple concept to let the weight of the ATV or UTV push the disc into the ground so it can be worked up. Don’t let the small size fool you. Because it is small you can go a lot faster and just keep going in circles or figure 8’s. Because it is small you can take it anywhere, anywhere you can take your ATV/UTV, you can disc up the ground. My food plots are along the Mississippi River which has sandy soil, so it really works great there. So, In my opinion, the only thing you really need to put in food plots is a Groundhog and a harrow of some sort. I ordered one on Amazon that you drag behind to help cover the seed after you have broadcast it. I think it can also be used to help clear the area of tall grass/vines/sticks/etc.before you start to disc. I also purchased one of those 20 lb. Seed throwers that have the sack and zipper. Everything I needed was less than $1000 and I feel as though I will be able to get to some areas to put in kill plots where I wouldn’t have been able to with other bigger equipment. Small food plots in the woods will attract the deer earlier to browse before they go out to the bigger agricultural fields. This means they will be at these food plots while the sun is still up and it is still legal shooting time. The food plots in the woods will sometimes also act as early staging areas before going to the larger agricultural fields. Put up a stand on these food plots and substantially increase your odds.
