It replaced an Ikea light that was broken by a toddler with a toy. It installed in approximately 10-12 minutes and that includes the time used to remove the old light fixture. Everything connected easily and all necessary parts were included. To mount the light you will need to start the screws in the junction box and then line them up with the mounting holes. Once in the hole, you'll want to twist to secure the light and then tighten the screws. Don't try to screw the light directly to the junction box without starting the screws first. The light "glass" is actually plastic but you cannot tell by looking at the light. That is actually preferable for us since the toys in our home are occasionally used a projectiles so there won't be another incident of broken glass on the floor. I am pleased with this light and it definitely enhanced the space. I am considering replacing a few other lights in the house with this light, with one exception. I wouldn't use the 4000K light for living areas and prefer the softness of the 3000K range lights for those spaces .
