I read from others where running that the water will eventually clear up after regular use but I didn't find this to be the case. I received another lamp from Amazon and the water is crystal clear. If you're having an issue with the lamp being cloudy it must be due to a quality control issue. After receiving the new lamp I am extremely happy with my purchase. I am giving this product 4 stars instead of 5 due to having to get an additional lamp. From reading other reviews it appears I wasn't the only one that had this problem. Update 8/17/15 - The lava is getting stuck to the inside of the glass and is stuck. I turned off the lava lamp and tried to toll the glass around to get the lava to off the glass but it is stuck. I could probably drain the liquid and clean it but that doesn't seem like an acceptable solution as this should not have happened.
