I'd read some reviewers say that the electrical hook up part was difficult, but I did not experience that at all. It is nice and quiet, seems to have plenty of power and I really couldn't be happier, after one month. Time will be the big tell. I am almost certain that the old Hayward was original equipment, but I'm not certain how old that would make it. I'd run it for 6 years, and I feel that's not a bad life, but the previous owner may have had it rebuilt. Don't know about that. But that is the real test of an electric motor, how well will it age? We. Will. See.

A: It has a screen to filter out big debris before sending to filter, Pool filters and pumps are separated, pump should be used with a sand/earth filter

It was a very easy installation, as it was almost the indentical size of the Hayward Super-Flo it replaced. I'd read some reviewers say that the electrical hook up part was difficult, but I did not experience that at all. It is nice and quiet, seems to have plenty of power and I really couldn't be happier, after one month. Time will be the big tell. I am almost certain that the old Hayward was original equipment, but I'm not certain how old that would make it. I'd run it for 6 years, and I feel that's not a bad life, but the previous owner may have had it rebuilt. Don't know about that. But that is the real test of an electric motor, how well will it age? We. Will. See.
