**Q: Can that be used as a smoke stopper as well?**
A: I suppose it might help if the space is large enough.  I used mine on a simple porch door to keep out winter draft.  Used an old broom stick which had more weight than the foam provided.  Of course that might add more friction where it rubs on the floor.  Might need to be replaced in time.  It sure beat using rolled towels as you can’t reposition them from the other side of the door.
