Review: Great hi-hat clutch - This is the best clutch I've ever owned. I used standard clutch that came with my DW 9000 w leg stand for years and never had a problem. It started to slip alot. I purchased another standard and that slipped too. Then I purchased this way over priced clutch. I works perfectly. Never had another slip with it. I think the best part about this clutch is the fact that it has the nylon washer (also attached) between the top cymbal and the pull rod… no more risk of keyholes. Well worth the investment. I’ve been disappointed by this hi hat stand since I bought it and have been looking for a replacement. Being a working drummer, I need consistency and the old, original, PDP clutch wasn’t cutting it anymore. Rather than getting a whole new stand, I decided to try this clutch. I’m happy to say that I didn’t have to think about it failing or slipping all night. While it is very easy to take this for granted, it is a huge deal as I can just concentrate on playing and not worry about my hi hats failing. If you’re in the market for a new clutch, this one is definitely worth the 50 bucks. The stand is an extended footboard PDP Concept double legged hi hat stand.
