## Questions & Answers

**Q: is there anyway to adjust the sensitivity of the trigger on these? the moles just dig under without setting it off**
A: You need to be sure the BOTTOM of the mole's tunnel is less than about 4 1/2 inches. Otherwise the jaw will close and not get the little begger. You can do this with a small diameter piece of rod. You also need to find the "edges" of the tunnel to ensure you are placing the trap in the MIDDLE to the moles tunnel. You can use the same rod for this as well. Once you have determined where there at ACTIVE mole tunnels, you need to mash the tunnel down where you intend to place the trap. This ensures that the mole has to repair the tunnel, by raising the direct against the trigger (thus setting off the trap).
You can test the sensitivity of the trap by setting it, pulling it out of the ground, place it on it's side, and then setting it off by using a twig or branch against the triggering plate. Mine is very sensitive. If yours is not sensitive, you can loosen the bolts a little bit. KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE "JAWS".
I captured my first mole within 24 hours of setting it.
If you are not sure where the active mole tunnels are, mash them ALL down, and then see where the mole burrows the next day.
Find the ACTIVE run, and then start at the top of my post and only mash down the width of your foot for an active run to place the trap.
If you have not captured a mole within 24 hours, look for another active run.

**Q: This thing actually works a little too well. Can anyone tell me of a trick or easy way to release it to dump all the bodies? Step on it again?**
A: I pull the set trap out a little just to make sure there is a mole in it. Then I push it back into the ground and step on it. This releases the mole which I just leave buried in the ground. Then I take a stick and carefully push the trap out of the ground. Once clear, I tap the stick end against the trigger to release the trap.

**Q: I'm a bit confused as to where I set them. Do I flatten the area where the dirt is being pushed up and put it in that hole?**
A: Find a stretch of ground that is raised a bit from the rest. It should be soft when stepped on with your foot. This is one of their tunnels. Position the trap with the 2 spikes in this tunnel. The trap will be aligned so that you are stepping across the tunnel when setting it. Think of it as 2 pairs of scissors. The scissors will spread out across the tunnel when set so that the next time the mole run through the tunnel, it will either get grabbed by the first set of scissors or the second set of scissors.# = Grass####################O========||========= <Tunnel^Hole##### ^Trap#####

**Q: I just received my trap a couple days ago. I moved it to an active run today and it has triggered twice without catching a mole. Any advice?**
A: Poke a dowl rod or stick into the run to locate the center of it. Second step on and flaten the run so the lil bastard has to work on forming his run in the trap zone and hopefully he will get it. One thing that helped me to get him moving was to set up my lawn sprinkler and water the runs lightly and get him active and BINGO nailed the Bastard first try. Love this trap just be sure to set it fully vertically down in the run. Good Luck
