It is inert and compatible with a very wide range of materials. Review: Worth Every Penny - This tape is ridiculously expensive and worth it. So many times I purchase things that don't live up to the hype and expectations. This tape is "AS ADVERTISED". There is nothing worse than shutting off your water to make a repair and then discovering a nuisance leak upon finishing the job. What makes this so special is both the thickness and the quality. It is so much easier to use because it cooperates with you- doesn't slip or kink up and is not as affected by static electricity. The recommendation is to use multiple wraps, but from my experience anything past a full wrap is adequate unless you are dealing with really sloppy threads. I love the large roll that makes it easier to use although the hole is not quite right for fitting my fingers. Overall it is superior to the cheap stuff. I like not having a stack of spares of shorter cheap rolls in my bucket. One or two spares of this lasts for a while.
