Once you get in a rhythm you can really crank them out. It actually saved me time because I don’t spent time resetting my on press priming system after I get a jam.Update, 1/14/19: after putting 1500 small rifle primers through it, I had exactly 2 primers that didn’t seat. Only thing I don’t like is the feeder sometimes doesn’t feed primers, I just have to tap the tray every couple of primers.Update 2/1/2019: I’ve now put somewhere in the neighborhood of 7500 primers through it in both 9mm and .224/5.56 and I’ve had a total of 7 wasted primers from a malfunction. I love this thing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another really good product from Lee Precision *by O***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2019* Purchased this Lee Auto Bench Priming Tool just the other day and as of today, have primed 100 rounds of once-fired Hornady match grade brass. Hornady's match grade brass has crimped in primers and I had to remove the crimp from the primer pocket before reloading. This figures into my review.Overall, I really like this product so far. I've used a Lee Precision Auto Prime tool for years without so much as a hiccup. However, the joints at the base of my thumbs have become arthritic and painful. Hence, the purchase of this tool. The long priming lever on this tool provides one heck of a mechanical advantage, allowing for the seating of the primer with ease - very little pressure required. That's great for arthritic hands!The drawback, I suspect, is that when a person places too much pressure on that lever which gives so much mechanical advantage in seating a primer, the pressure created can cause the primer to detonate. I didn't experience this, but it makes sense. In the directions for use of this tool (yes, I actually read them) Lee Precision clearly states: "However, all types of FEDERAL BRAND LARGE PRIMERS frequently caused the entire tray to explode with sufficient force to cause serious and painful injuries." What the heck is up with that?Since I don't know what's up with that, I sent an email to Lee Precision asking them. I just sent it, so they haven't had time to respond. One thing I know about Lee Precision is that they're dedicated to customer satisfaction, so I'm certain they will respond. Now, I said I just primed 100 cases, and I used Federal Primers. I followed Lee's directions and fed each primer indivudually. Hence, the reason I gave this a four star rating instead of five. Feeding the primers one at a time is sort of a pain. But, I did so without any problem whatsoever.Given that the brass I was using had had crimped primers, even though I reamed the primer pockets, they were still tight. I could definitely feel a "bump" on the lever of the priming tool when most of the primers seated; often one "bump" and then a second when the primer was finally seated. I suspect with new brass, this won't be the issue. I think the primers will seat smoothly. However, I also believe the reloader will need to be careful to develop a "feel" for when the primer is seated so as to not apply too much pressure on the lever of this priming tool. If you do, I think it'll cause the primer to detonate.Hence, the warning about Federal primers. Why theirs and no-one else's, I have no idea. When Lee Precision provides an answer, I'll update this. For now, I think this is a really good tool with the caveat that the reloader has to use it with care as you do using any reloading process tool. This ia a tool to be used with finesse and brains, not just muscle and no thought.... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You get MORE than you pay for. *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2017* I've read mixed reviews about these, especially compared to the RCBS bench primer. In my opinion, this is well worth the money....a bargain, even. You do have to bump the primer holder from time to time to make sure the primers feed, but the pathway is clear plastic, so you can see if they are feeding or not. I mainly use it for 38 and small primer 45 with Federal primers in tuned revolvers, that do not tolerate high primers. I have yet to have that problem. I can seat the primers all the way in the pocket very easily. (In the instructions, they do recommend against using the feed tray with large Federal primers, and only feed one primer at a time). This priming tool impressed me, and I am a RCBS guy. Hand priming sucks, but this one takes a lot of the pain (literally and figuratively) away from that chore.
