Will this phone be sufficient for that?** A: I'm pretty sure it has to be used with the base unit to work , so the answer is no ... can't be used by itself. It has to paired with the base unit to work. this is a remote of the base unit. **Q: Do these handsets have a belt clip?** A: Yes they do. It's up to you whether or not to attach it. **Q: The Base model KX-TG9541/2 is expandable up to 6 remote handsets. What about the BASE handset? Is the base handset considered part of the 6?** A: yes it is. I found out the hard way when I order 6 remote handsets and couldn't connect the the last one since the base phone is considered part of the 6 total.
