The 4x8 must be fully expanded as designed. Only when fully expanded can the Centipede support very heavy workloads. **Q: Is this sturdy/stable enough for a CNC machine that vibrates a lot?** A: It will support 3000 lbs. The vibration could be a problem unless you top the centipede with a sheet of foam insulation and then a sheet of plywood. It comes with holfasts that do a respectable job that you would use to hold the foam and plywood in place. I believe I could make it work for that purpose, but since I don’t have personal experience with your particular machine I could not say for sure. **Q: Has anyone used this with their track saw?** A: I did. And I should of adjusted the saw blade depth cause I nicked the plastic holders but you live and you learn. Worked very good by the way.
