Review: Airfix 1/48 P-51D Mustang - Still to build the kit and will probably be on the shelf until summer is past but it seems to be a well made kit with 2 build options with nice decal sets. Although it is a 1/48 kit it seems to me to be quite small but that is probably just myself being used to making bombers at this scale. It will be a challenge for my dodgy eyesight but i am looking forward to the build.

Still to build the kit and will probably be on the shelf until summer is past but it seems to be a well made kit with 2 build options with nice decal sets. Although it is a 1/48 kit it seems to me to be quite small but that is probably just myself being used to making bombers at this scale. It will be a challenge for my dodgy eyesight but i am looking forward to the build.

You get an engine and 2 gun bays. You don’t get swastika for the tail. It’s a German law it can’t be displayed so for sales in Germany. No one gets them. But there is no reason why Airfix can’t make them in 2 parts like other kit makers. The kit is small. A lot smaller than i remember but it was 55yrs ago the last time I built one and that was 1/72 Cutting out the gun bays from top wing is to fiddly for my eyesight. The engine is nice and a lot easier to build. All in all a nice kit.
