You can unscrew it off and on anytime but might need to add some off n on! Good stuff! **Q: Would this be good to utilize on an oil drain plug before reinstalling during automotive oil changes?** A: I wouldn't recommend that. This has bits of Teflon and they could get into the oil filter and clog it. Drain plugs are designed to have a gasket and not seal at the threads. I would search for a new drain plug on Amazon for your car. **Q: How to revive old dried out slic-tite, is it water soluble?** A: Hello, This is not water soluble product. This is actually an oil/grease-based material. You can try a little ethanol. However, you should only try a little bit.
