I was about to spend $200 to $400 for a photo scanner, when I saw this on Amazon. I thought I'd give it a shot and even added the extra dollars for the LED strip. Shocked! It worked really well in combination with my iphone (11). When I was using the phone on its own the pictures of the pictures suffered from glare and shadows. This solved that problem. I tested it out on 8x11 and smaller. Works really well with the LED. I recommend adding that. It was still good when I had the strip turned off, but better with it. The LED improved the balance in lighting. You can then use Photo on your Mac or the iphone app to fix up the new photo. Saved a ton of money. Maybe not quite as fast as a scanner. You could use to take a photo of an album page if it fits in the box. You can then crop to size for each individual picture. I think that is part of what I like - this lets me get a bit more creative. Well done and I recommend it. I noticed some wrote reviews that the USB cord for the LED strip is short. See my picture. I used a USB charger battery. Worked great. LEDs don't draw much power. Box seems a bit flimsy, but I added some tape to firm it up. Clever that they recommend to use it as a document or storage box until you are ready to scan. The bumpers are handy, don't miss that part of the set up.
