Thanks! Oyen Digital Support **Q: What is the voltage/amps of the adapter?** A: As others have mentioned, it's 12vDC and 2.0 Amps. Not sure if it actually needs all 2 Amps, but maybe it does, especially with mechanical spinning drives.The center pin is positive, and the outer contact is negative/ground. This is pretty standard nowadays, although in the past, I've seen some funky power supplies that had this reversed. Check the label on the PSU, or even better (what I did), check the polarity with a DMM. **Q: Can this enclosure be positioned on it's side (vertically) to save desktop space? [Rather than flat/horizontally as pictured]** A: Yes, it can be positioned horizontally or vertically. I have two SSD drives in it and since there are no moving parts, then you could place it in any position you feel like. As far as the two SSDs, I simply kept them as separate drives rather than making them both one large drive. This enclosure is one of the best pieces of computer hardware I've bought in some time. Very well made, very well packaged. Total quality in my opinion. I don't even need to use the power supply since I have it plugged into the Type-C port on my laptop. That was a very welcome surprise, one less power adapter to worry about. **Q: Will this enclosure auto spin-down HDD drives after a certain period of inactivity? (power-saver feature)** A: Yes, this enclosure WILL spin down the hard drives (on Windows and probably on other OS's) for the following conditions: 1) after a period of inactivity (power/drive saver mode), 2) after the drive has been ejected, or 3) if the computer is shut down or put into sleep/hibernate mode. In summary, the comprehensive auto spin-down feature works great :) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So easy to set up *by S***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 August 2021* Took me less than 1 hour from start to finish setting it up - it would probably have taken less had I *really* read the instructions ;-) - my bad ! And also their *bad* of a couple of other reviewers who obviously didn't really read the sheet too.Mine is set at RAID 1 and I'm using a couple of spare Samsung SSDs I had available. as it will be used to store image files on photo trips and the redundancy is great in case there is an issue. BTW, within the 1 hour assembly took I did do a disk failure check to ensure the RAID had worked.No problems with my backup software (FreeFileSync) recognising the device and I find RAID 1 throughput more than acceptable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ An excellent dual bay external case, albeit a bit pricey *by D***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 November 2019* Having purchased 2 similar products before, I was after a new product but this time I wanted "pure" usb-c transfer speeds and wanted good-looker for my desk. The MiniPro RAID V3 USB 3.1 Type-C, is an excellent product and is unbelievably fast! Although I have used external raid solutions with two Samsung 860 pro SSD's, putting the SSD's in this drive with a type-c to type-c cable (your PC/Laptop must support it) makes this external drive, astonishingly fast! The quality of the product is quite good, but I think its overpriced. A plus for supplied screwdriver and power adapter.Only minor confusion - you really can't tell if your RAID setting is valid? The manual states you should press the putton for 5-7 seconds, after setting the DIP switches. I have RAID-1 and the D1 and D2 flashes like both disks are connected (as RAID1).
