Imported. Review: I shopped around a bit before picking out this machine as it had the best reviews. Very good, has a bolt with it so it doesn't move from the table while you're using it. I find some residue from the clay sticks to the wheels so you just have to clean it with a wet wipe before swapping colours but this is to be expected. Comes with all the different thickness settings which you can change by pulling out the knob on the side slightly and turning. Review: More expensive than most clay machines but great if you are a hobbyist or sell your work and not wanting to spend on the top grade machines in the market. You do get what you pay for as I extensively researched the clay machines. The Makin is worth the price as it has a non stick roller, smooth and even extrusion of clay through different thicknesses, and the steel durable more so than most "tinny" cheaper models. It's a game changer to produce professional looking clay and an easy way of conditioning the clay. Like the fact the handle comes off to prevent accidently hitting it when not in use. Complicated to clean though and the ceramic clay is water based which might encourage rusting of the machine parts that are not Teflon. **Q: How thick is the thickest setting on this machine on a piece of clay?** A: There are 9 settings for thickness, 9 being the thinnest, that makes 1 the thickest. I measured with business cards and 1 is 7 cards thick. **Q: How thin does this go? Can it produce a layer less than 1mm thick (roughly the thickness of 3 or 4 playing cards)?** A: I bought it to use to condition polymer clay, and the thinnest level gets close to that, if not even thinner. **Q: how thick does this go? can it go to 1/4 inch or more?** A: No, I think the widest setting is more like 1/8th".
