However, if you want to use the inline controls you have to plug the usb power cable into a nearby source, like a laptop (you don't have to use the inline controls, though). Additionally, when you use the inline controls chat is disabled unless you use a 2.5mm to 3.55mm adapter. All this to say, it is a good buy because it is truly universal. If you want it for Xbox One "ONLY" and have more money to spend buy something else. A very good value, though. **Q: How durable is this headset? I want one that can last me a few years.** A: This particular headset, the second one I've purchased of this model, lasted me about 18 months. When I purchased mine March of 2020, within months, the fake leather on the headband and on the replaceable earpads started to peel off. I take very good care of everything I own, have no kids in the house, and I'm the only one who uses my devices. I noticed about 4 months ago (it's now September) that both sides, above the earpieces, was cracked. Last week, the right earpiece started sticking out from my ear because it finally broke thru. Every Turtle Beach headset (and every headset I've owned since the Xbox 360 came out has been a TB) has broken in this place, so I'm done with this brand and their cheap plastic. I bought a SteelSeries 7X which is well worth the price (I had to buy it at Walmart, because for some reason I can't find a 7X on Amazon) and a Razor Blackshark V2 which is pretty much equal to the TB sound quality, although has no amplifier, bass/treble, etc. to use for a backup or on other devices. **Q: how do you charge it** A: You do not charge it, it is powered by usb connection to what ever device your plugging it into.
