The Deception resistance army and the Autobus counter-resistance fighters gear up with the universe's most advanced modular weaponry, including weapon mode battle Masters -- sentient Bots that convert into weapons. transformers and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

Review: Smashdown, one of the War for Cybertron: Siege Battle Masters is a fun little bot that's a welcome addition, changing up the dynamic of "robot turns into gun" and "animal barely changes into bladed weapon" by being a robot minotaur (a humanoid with a bull head and tail) that turns into a battle hammer. Robot mode is a beefy little bruiser, alt mode is a battle hammer with a short handle a la Mjolnir, the blast effect simulates a hammer strike when attached to either face of the hammer but can also attach to normal blast effect pegs on other Siege figures. Like other Battle Masters in this line, articulation and transformation are simple, yet fun. Smashdown also has a lot of personality and presence for a little figure. Pros: - new Transformers character - turns into a hammer weapon for larger figures to wield - hammer has a nice, removable large fire blast effect that can be attached to other figures (even Siege Ironhide's hammer face) - he's a freakin' robot minotaur! - decent sculpted details in both modes - lots of pegs to attach blast effects, up to 18 of them plus a 5mm peg hole at either end of the hammer - not shown in instructions but removable hammer handle/tail has grooves on one side to fit in either of Smashdown's hands in a specific way as his weapon (see attached pics) - easy to transform, and not delicate Cons: - removable hammer handle doesn't stay in tightly enough, easy to leave at an angle during play/display - painted silver item number on one of the hammer faces, embossed run number on other hammer face - chest front and head back have unattractive hollow spaces - forearms have a big chunk of alt mode kibble underneath - mid-torso joint and neck joint seem like they should straighten all the way but are designed not to - no Autobot (or Wreckers) faction logo painted on him

I'm really glad that I've got this toy (althought it wasn't what I was hoping 4) I'm still so dang freaking glad that I've got it becuase I've really freaking dang wanted it becuase it looked cool and awesome and was really good at the price as well as cool and awesome 2 pals. Also, I both love and am on team Autobots 4 life, as well as getting more of their team in the future when I get the dang freaking chance 2 pals.
