You can turn on/off every single stage independently and if you turn them all off it results in a plain vanilla guitar string pluck. If you then select reverb you'll get that vanilla pluck with reverb. This thing is like making a pizza. Use whatever toppings you want and there are no rules. I do all of my fiddling around with the settings using Boss Tone Studio. It works so much better for me that leaning over and squinting at knobs/dials. Enjoy. **Q: Does this have a looping feature? If so, what is the maximum length of the loop that can be created?** A: There is a looper on the delay pedal. I believe it's 38 seconds, or at least in that ballpark. **Q: Can you play through headaches without using a amp?** A: I tried but could not get it to do it. I still had to run my headphones trough the amp which is a pain when you have to drag it around just to practice or play with the settings. **Q: Can I run the preamps through my real tube amp with no problems or is that only for amp simulation for without a amp? Don’t want to mess up my amp.** A: You should not "Mess" anything up but you will color the sound of the pre amp.
