Why do you think a handful of reviewers claim jig is not accurate (holes off by 1/16 or 1/32)?** A: I bought one of these jigs from HomeDepot several years back, and the manufacturing tolerances of the bushings through which you drill are sufficiently sloppy that having holes 1/32” off even when you’re careful can easily happen. And if you are not careful, I could easily imagine 1/16” misalignment. I like the product in general, and it allows me to dowel things that would be nigh on impossible without a jig, but it is not overly precise. **Q: I see loose bushings in the picture, is it metric?** A: you mean the bushings that guide the drillbit attached to the jig? Yes, they're metric. But that's a good chance to change the bushings to fractional inches. **Q: Are there any smaller bushings than 1/4" available for this jig? Or can you use a 3rd party bushing with it?** A: The 1/4" dowel is the smallest one the device offers. In theory, it's possible to get a bushing and shove it in the 1/4" hole. I suppose if you had a 3D printer you could print one, just keep in mind that the existing bushing is permanently set in the jig and is not removable. Whatever you added to the jig would have to be flush with the top or else you would be making an indentation on the wood.
