Used it on fake wood desks. Didn't cause any harm. **Q: What gloves should I wear while using it? I see that it contains both xylene and acetone.** A: The gloves needed depends on how you're using the product. If you're removing a small 1" diameter decal requiring minimal scraping or rubbing, nitrile medical exam gloves work fine. I have found that thick 10mm nitrile gloves will deteriorate within 15 minutes in a project where i used an entire Goof Off Pro Strength and a stainless steel wool scrubber to remove some nasty car headliner adhesive from the underside of a car roof. I switched over to chemical resistant gloves which held up fine in a heavy application of Goolf Off. The Goof Off ingredient sheet does list a cancer warning, so using the proper tools, including gloves, is advisable. **Q: Will it remove super glue from a laminate counterttop** A: There is a Goof off made specifically for super glue removal **Q: I have finished hardwood flooring, and there seems to be glue or gum that is stuck on top. Can this remove the glue without damaging hardwood finish?** A: Good question. I don't know with certainty, but I would guess 'yes', it will damage the finish unless applied and removed quickly. This stuff 'cuts' quickly. I would use Goo Gone. But if you have some wd40 around, try that. I'm surprised what it will do without harming finishes. Always try a small spot first (size of a quarter).
