## Questions & Answers

**Q: is there a shock mount available for this ?**
A: Yes, but it does NOT come with it (as someone else stated) unless you purchase the LCT 240-PRO-MAX.

The LCT240-PRO comes with a rubberized mic clip that some sellers might call a shock mount, but it is not. The (spider) shock mount may be purchased separately, and it is called the Lewitt LCT-40-SH.

Again, the LCT-40-SH is included with the LCT240-PRO-MAX. There are also some aftermarket shock mounts available for less, but be sure that they specify this particular mic before purchasing.

Also of note, this is a great mic for the price, but... for a bit more you can get the Lewitt LCT440-PURE which comes with a shock mount and a pop filter, and it is a considerably better mic.

**Q: Is it good for recording clarinet and tenor sax? Since those are pretty bright in the upper registers, I don't want the mic to boost those frequencies**
A: First off, this is just my proverbial two cents. So if you end up disagreeing, there's no need to hate me :) That said, in my opinion, this would not be the type of mic I would use to record a sax or a clarinet. For instance, I bought the 240 pro to use as an additional mic on the fretboard of an acoustic guitar, and maybe an occasional alternative vocal or sound. Being that it isn't a full 1 inch capsule, you likely would not get the kind of "fuller" singular sound you would probably want when recording your instruments. If it is Lewitt that you like (and I would not blame you), I own another (the 1" diaphragm Lewitt LCT 540) which I think would be much more suitable (it actually is my go to microphone presently). And you probably could pick one up second hand for almost the same money. Finally, if it is a completely "flat" sound that you were looking for, AKG Mics are the flattest that I've ever used. Deals can probably be had on an old C 4000 (again, a 1 inch capsule), without having to take out a second mortgage.

Once again, just my opinion… As they say, your mileage may vary.
Good luck, we're all counting on you. :)

**Q: Does this come with any type of pop-filter?**
A: It comes with a windscreen, but not a pop filter.

**Q: How are you supposed to hook this up to your pc?**
A: Hi, you would use a recording interface, like the Focusrite Scarlett Solo to hook it up to a PC.

As a long-time owner of the legendary AKG C414, I'm used to a certain standard of audio quality. I bought the LEWITT LCT 240 PRO on a bit of a whim, looking for a reliable backup or a solid "workhorse" mic that I wouldn't have to be overly precious with. Well, I'm completely blown away. Right out of the box, I was impressed by the design and its ruggedness. This microphone is built like a tank. It feels solid, professional, and the black finish looks great and very sleek in the studio. It doesn't feel like a "budget" piece of gear at all. But the real shock came when I plugged it in. The sound quality is outstanding for this price point. It's crisp, clear, and detailed, with a very balanced and modern sound that holds its own surprisingly well against my C414 on many sources, especially vocals and acoustic guitar. It has a very low self-noise and can handle high SPLs without breaking a sweat. I came in expecting a decent backup, but I've found a microphone that I'm now grabbing for sessions all the time. For the money, the LCT 240 PRO is an absolute no-brainer. Highly recommended for its sound, design, and rock-solid build.
