I would concentrate on the grout instead. **Q: Can I use this for a top coat for milk paint?** A: No sure, I put it over chalk paint . **Q: can this be used over bread to preserve for display** A: I would not think so. The bread would disintegrate **Q: I used this in my kitchen on the island. It appears that oil from food/cooking has penetrated. Cant wipe clean. Maybe i need more coats? I did two** A: I don't think this is the right product to use on a kitchen island top if it's porous (i.e., marble).
