Not a new tank, it’s established.** A: It’s a polymer. It will bind particles together so your filter can catch them. Might need to get a smaller micron filter sock and/or a protein skimmer. This brand is the best deal because YOU USE MUCH LESS product per use. LESS THAN A CAP-FULL for 10gallon tank. The product works very well. Its not instant (mine was overnight), but good quality takes good time.
