The seven-segment screen will indicate which setting has been chosen. A special configuration for Li-Ion batteries. In this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the BMS of the VE.Bus. Ultra low current consumption. This is important for Li-Ion batteries, especially after a low voltage disconnection. Surge Protection to prevent over-voltage damage on sensitive appliances, the charge is disconnected whenever the DC voltage exceeds 16 V or 32 V. Fire proof No relays but with MOSFET switches, therefore no sparks. Delayed alarm output. The alarm output is triggered if the battery voltage falls below the pre-set disconnect level for more than 12 seconds. Therefore, the alarm will not be triggered when starting the engine. Normally, the alarm output is used to activate an acoustic signal, LED or relay. Delayed load disconnection and delayed reconnection the charge will be disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been activated. If the battery voltage is increased again towards the connection threshold in this time period (after the engine has started), the charge will not be disconnected. You will need a contactor (relay) capable of handling the full load of the motor, probably many hundreds of amps. That said, the BatteryProtect can trigger a remote relay, but that function would be better accomplished with a battery monitor, like the Victron BMV-700, also connected to a large relay. The battery monitor can also be set to alarm when the battery gets low. **Q: is this suitable for under hood applications? Would engine bay temp or damp conditions be an issue?** A: No. The BP series is not suitable for this purpose. **Q: I want to use my RV is this a standalone product or does it need another device to input parameters for the battery to shut off at a certain voltage?** A: This is a programmable low voltage cut off device. Great for Lithium battery management. Only shuts off when the battery voltage falls to an assigned level. Read the brochure on how to set the shut off voltage.
