I ordered it as a desk lamp. I am a photo retoucher and I have a specialized lamp, but I wanted something for when I am doing desk work that does not involve color correction and can just be a light, but still has relatively accurate lighting when I want a quick estimation or just want to work under controlled color temperature lighitng.It has a 60 minute timer if you want to set it to go off after a bit. It has a usb port for charging your phone, though I haven't used this yet. I took a color temperature meter to read the temperature on my lamp. I didn't compare it to others, but here is what I found (rounded to the nearst 100 degrees)Reading 4900Study 5600Relax 3500Sleep 3000For the price, I am not sure how much more you can expect. My phone plugs in, but is only supported by the charge port, which would eventually break my phones port.
