**Q: Is this waterproof?  I'm thinking about using it on mugs for christmas gifts.**
A: These are craft paints and not safe to use for food containers.  May contain lead, metallic particles, and chemicals that should not be ingested even in minute amounts.  If you want gold on ceramic cups, why not do it the professional way?  Buy ceramic gold paint from Pebeo or Ceramic supply stores.  After painting your cups, you will have to take them to a ceramic studio, and low fire them to melt and set the paint.  This is a very low firing, not high, not even medium heat.  No, you cannot do this in your oven.  Your cups must be able to be fired without cracking.  The studio will tell you.  Now you have real gold on your cups.  Be aware that real gold on cups is metallic.  It cannot go into the microwave at all or will short it out.  It cannot go in dishwasher or have any teflon sponge scrubbing.  It is very delicate and rubs off with harsh products.  Not functional at all, which is why you should only use it for jewelry.

**Q: Liquid Leaf Thinner? I have a bottle of Liquid Leaf that's gotten too thick to use. What should I use as a thinner?**
A: I've used a traditional paint thinner for thinning this product. Please us less of the thinner than you believe you should use as this product needs far less than traditional paint. Gregory

**Q: I want a lot of shine. Is this shiny?**
A: Yes! It is gold leaf, so a lot of shine and real gold look - not a brownish look. This is the gold leaf classic. You amy want to look up the other gold shades before deciding.

**Q: Directions say apply an acrylic sealer to prevent tarnishing. I can't use a spray acrylic (small irregular areas). What brush on acrylic should I use?**
A: 1. Mod Podge Acrylic Sealer from Walmart or Home Depot $5.47 spray can
2. Amazon has Mod Podge in several finishes: Pearlized, High Gloss, Matte, Clear, etc from $5 - $11 at

You could also use water-based Varathane brand Polyurethane from Home Depot in pint or quart size, and this is a brush or roller application which I prefer.  I do not like spray cans as they leave bubbles and are too runny and costly.  Water PolyU is also excellent for furniture, and does not smell and is eco friendly.
