They do not "roll" into the window as you lower it. They are designed to pop off the window once the little suction cup is reached. This is wonderful if you're not in the back seat and want more air.I purchased these to cut down on the summer sun. They do about as expected. If I were to have children in the back, I would definitely use these to keep the sun directly off of them.
