Don't get me wrong. This mount is perfect if you plan on using at a desk or in applications where it will mount in front of you. Here are the pros and cons and the explanation of why this mount isn't really working out for me.Pros:- Very sturdy gooseneck. The gooseneck won't move from the weight of a tablet whatsoever.- Sturdy mounting bracket. Clamps to everything I could imagine using this mount on to make sure it would stay sturdy. I mounted fine to lips of end tables, counters, my bed, nightstand.- The tablet holder was very versatile, and held all the tablets I put in it securely.- You can easily turn the tablet from Landscape to Portrate view.Cons:- The gooseneck is very very stiff and almost impossible to adjust where I need it. Yes this is good to hold the weight of a tablet, but due to the lack of flexibility in the gooseneck part of the mount, I'm unable to adjust the mount in a position that is comfortable to me.- The gooseneck makes a loud cracking noise if you bend it too much. Is this bad? did I break it? is it ok? Does this meaning I'm working the stiffness out? The instructions don't say and I'm not a gooseneck expert, but I know it's kind of annoying when I was laying in bed trying to get my tablet in a position that didn't make me look to the side and make my neck hurt after a while.- There is absolutely no padding on the tablet holder. The plastic feels flimsy and awkward.- Because the end of the clamp (the part you turn with your hand to tighten or loosen it) is plastic, you can only clamp it to something so tight before you feel like you're going to break it.- That being said, depending on the position you want the gooseneck in, the clamp may move when you adjust it.- It is near impossible to clamp this mount onto an end table or nightstand to the right or left of you and adjust it so the tablet is directly in front of you. I wasn't able to accomplish this at all, but maybe others have cracked the gooseneck enough to allow for this kind of versatility, but I tried and tried and tried and could only get it at an angle to my right or left. This is the main reason for my return of this product.The only reason I didn't give this product 1 star is because it will work in some applications, unfortunately clamping onto something to the side of you to view your tablet in front of you is not one of those applications. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Can mod to fit smaller (and very slightly larger) tablets *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 24, 2015* This fit my Asus T100 without any problem. I ran into an issue when I started trying to use it with an Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4" which was way too small.However, if you don't mind it looking a bit less sleek, you can modify it and fit smaller and slightly larger tablets. Note this will not do anything for the depth of the tablet, so be mindful of the tablet's thickness.Remove the two screws that hold the metal face place on the front. This will expose the gearing inside. You can then remove the gearing and cut down the side walls and the rear guard inside which keep the holding tines from moving in closer to the center. This modification will require taking out the screw holders as well, so that metal back will never again fit on the holder. You can also use a drill to lengthen the channels that the gears rest in.In total this modification allowed me to get each tine to go 1" closer to and 1/4" farther from the center. This does destabilize the tines unless there is tablet inserted and secured but once that's done there is no movement.This mod is pretty easy with a jobmax style tool but could also be done with a drimmel or other rotary tool. Hopefully the picture gives you an idea of what I mean by this as I know my directions are lackluster at best.Tablet is good over all for what it is and held my rather heavy ASUS T100 above my head just fine without dropping it or sagging too much (there is some sag, but not bad). The stem is not very long though, so keep that in mind for mounting locations. I've often found it to be too short for some places I wanted to put it but if the stem was longer I think sag would be much more of a problem. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The arm went limp... otherwise it was just what I wanted. *by J***M on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 28, 2015* I really had hoped this would work great. As is, it is "okay", once I propped up the arm with a stick!The metal shaft was SO stiff when I unpackaged it, that I had to have my husband bend it into position for me to use with my Polaroid 10.1 tablet. I felt this stiffness would actually be a GOOD thing, needed to hold up that weight of my tablet. I thought it would be perfect.But in a while as I was pushing buttons and selecting reference photos for my work, the arm holding my tablet up next to my painting easel went....... dooowwwnnnnn. Clunk. Fell onto the desk. :-(Nothing broke, so I tried again. Repeat. Finally put a stick under the arm, till I figure out something else.I am pretty sure if you use it in a more UPRIGHT position than I am, it would be fine. But nowhere in the description did it caution against using it in a more horizontal position. I needed it to come out to the side of my easel, at barely a 45 degree angle. Apparently my 10.1 inch tablet was too heavy for this.
