We each wore one all weekend and got no bites. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% effective, but it does work *by G***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2011* My son got his mama's sweet blood, so whenever we go outside it seems like there are swarms of mosquitoes around us just waiting for a snack! I have bought several products to help prevent them from attacking my one year old. The Bugbands have been effective for the both of us. However, in order to be fully effective I have to wear one on each wrist if I'm wearing short sleeves, and one on each ankle if in shorts. One band on one appendage is NOT enough for full protection! The first time I put one on I put it on my right ankle - by the time I went inside the house my left leg had 15+ bites, and I had one on my right leg. I have gotten bit right by the band once, which seems weird. I would say they are probably 80% effective per limb you put a band on. What I have found to be most effective so far is to put one on each wrist and wear pants and socks. On my one year old I put one on each of his ankles and use Badger Anti-bug balm on his arms and the back of his neck. We have been using these bands for over a month now, and they are still working. Honestly, the only thing that is VERY effective for me is Deep Woods Off, but that is not the safest thing, and definitely can't be used on baby! We live on Fire Island NY which is a barrier island off long island. Because it is actually nothing more than a large sand bar in the Atlantic Ocean you can only imagine the amount of mosquitos we have here all the time, rain only makes it worse. I am very sensitive to bites which cause swelling/blister like bumps and these bands make beach life 98% more tolerable!. Of course I get a bite here and there.
