The book gives you information on tools, how to bathe and brush certain coats and different techniques that you can use. The main part of the book is the patterns for giving a proper haircut to a specific breed and some of the breeds have more than one. Basic anatomy, muscle structure, hair types, and more about nails, ears, safety practices etc are all discussed. Most of the tools I already knew about and brushing and bathing I had already learned from my work experience but there is tons of dog breeds in this book I have not seen yet. The book contains lots of patterns and different ways to give haircuts. I am unsure with my shaving skills but just seeing in the book the lines you are supposed to follow has given me more confidence in my abilities. Anyone needing to know anything about a specific breed of dog needs to get this book, and anyone in the dog grooming business should also get this book! The only problem I had with this book is that it took awhile to get shipped to me. I had to contact Amazon to see what the hold up was. It was suppose to get shipped on a Monday, but didn't get shipped until the following Thursday.
