My wife and I used the interval "walk-run" setting to train for our first marathon. We used it so often, we purchased another one for a his and hers companion. Then life got in the way and I put consistent running sessions on a shelf for years. So the Gymboss units sat in a drawer. After some time of sitting dormant ,for at least 5 years, one of the units lost it ability to vibrate, which is my preferred alert. The other was loaned/given to a friend who wanted to do interval exercise routines. After getting back into running in the last month, I knew it was time to get a new Gymboss. The new unit has a sturdier and more durable look, fit and finish. It is also a more polished and refined appearance. It has the updated rechargeable battery and a very visible backlight digital display. The new unit works and performs just as it should. It really helps by reminding me to take my scheduled 30 second interval walk. Just enough time to recover for my next run interval. It is simple to program with the supplied directions. If you any difficulties with programing, there are numerous Youtube videos on "how to" for the Gymboss unit. It is a cheap and long lasting running companion that gives you the gentle reminder to not over do it. Conversely, it also reminds you to "get back at it".
