You can send an email to the seller via amazon customer services and the seller will respond quickly. **Q: Can these hold books without being secured to the wall?** A: Yes, I don't have any of them attached to wall and lots and lots of books in them and up to three layers (I think four would be pushing) but you can do all kinds of combos, back to back, long run along the floor etc. Only issue I have had with them is I wish they would supply a few more connectors (say 5 more than what is needed for the basic model), surely they are not too expensive or perhaps offer them as an add on product. They seem to be quite sturdy. I have had them up for months now with some hefty mix of books in them and they are all fine **Q: Do the shelves bend once they are under weight? If so, how much weight can each one take before it starts to bend?** A: The frame of this cube bookcase does not bend at all. There may be a little bit of a dip in the centre of the cube, but it’s not noticeable. I hold books on mine with no issues. It has stayed sturdy and the material is a bendy plastic but the metal frame makes it strong. I assembled mine in a tall tower and DIY’d a bit because the little legs stick out slightly so it cant be flush against a wall. I use it to fill a small otherwise unusable space for clothes so I use it for a relatively light load. The hangar included is a plus. Doesn’t look horribly put of place in a room, especially when filled with items.
