Assembly was easy. Ship time was good. Quality of product is excellent. If you want to get access to the attic pick it up and move to the side - no problem. As a quick fix I put down long strips of 6" insulation around the perimeter so the cap would sit on the insulation. I needed something to make up for the "rough" opening around the stair in my attic for the cap to sit on. I have no floor for the cap to sit on and even if I put plywood down the rafters the floor would be uneven because the heights of the rafters differ. I'm going to have to figure a fix so the cap will have something flat to sit on. The bottom line is the cap sitting on the insulation is doing its job for now I can tell because there is no draft or almost no draft around the closed attic stair door. This spring I will make it better. Review: Simple and effective - Great product and easy to set up. It comes in two pieces fore ease of shipping, and includes glue and tape to connect them. It is really simple to attach the two pieces and takes only a few minutes. I used some extra duct tape to strengthen the connection, but that's just me - you don't have to. The Draft Cap fit my stair opening exactly which I guess is a "standard" size. For years I tried to cover the opening with other types of insulation that never worked very well. I thought, "Hhmmmmm, maybe this will work." We had several hot days and I was feeling heat from the attic fan ( bought a cover for that ) but it was cool where the Draft Cap had been installed. The only negative thing I can say is I didn't like the duct tape that came with it; it was flimsy if duct tape can be cheap (it curled when I pulled it off the paper). However, I had some tape like HVAC people use and I used that. BUT this is a minor problem compared to how easy installation is and how the product does what it says it will do. My brother-in-law, who is in heating and cooling, predicts it will pay for itself in the first year.
