Not the fairest comparison, but the sound quality of the YCL is incomparable to my old Mendini. Would I recommend buying if you are playing long term? Yes. Short term, maybe. As with all instruments, they are pricey and for someone who is just “getting the feels” it wouldn’t be nice to have to return a 700-800$ instrument. Solid clarinet choice would certainly recommend but just sort out how much you would play/how long. No complaints otherwise, very well packaged.
