Review: Perfect addition to my Yamaha DD5c and Alesis. - If you are looking for a bass drum tower, this maybe for you. I have been using the Yamaha DD55c table top drum set for a while. It's a nice addition to my acoustic set but sometimes I would use it as a stand alone kit. It came with foot switches that didn't quite cut it for the flow of a lot songs. I would have miss hits,no hits and double hits out of nowhere. I did some research on desertcart and other drum sites and read reviews of the KP65. I must say I found them mixed. I'm glad I dug deeper beyond just a few. The set up process can be very tricky.E Drums and triggers ,and how they work with different brands and modules,WOW!!! I choose the KP65 because of the overall quality of the Yamaha brand. Mixing Yamaha with Yamaha was probably a good idea but it works with my Alesis as well. Make sure you have good pedal with the hard end hitting the pad. I have not used it with a double pedal but did watch a youtuder using it that way. I was very happy with the price compared to others. It with the cable ready to go. If you have issues, Google Alexa were big helpers for me.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this plug right into a PA channel or do you need some sort of controller?**
A: You can get a generic "thump" plugging straight in, but it's not very good. You'll need a controller to get any decent sounds. I picked up a used Yamaha DTXpress for $125. Well worth it. The variety of sounds is incredible, and you can add more triggers for other drum sounds. I wound up exchanging my KP65 for the silent pedal KU100. Very happy with it, but I'm a bass player, so I never knew a real bass drum pedal.

**Q: I have two questions. Will this kick pad work with Roland V-Drums series? Works for a double bass drum foot kick pedal?**
A: Yes to both of your questions. I use my KP65 on my Roland TD11K drum set and I use a Iron Cobra 600 Double bass pedal with this bass kick pad on my setup. AWESOME kick pad by the way. I love mine, and definitely recommend it. Hope this helps

**Q: Will it keep moving if I don't screw it on the floor? I want my drum pad and bass to be movable and can be stowed away if I need extra space**
A: Most acoustic bass pedals, from the least expensive to the most expensive USUALLY have some way to clamp onto the rim of a kick drum. This will look like a claw or clamp on the bottom of the bass pedal under the striker. Pedals with such a mechanism should latch on to this product. This target has two screw-pins that look like spring-loaded spikes on the far side (away from the player) so that if you have carpet, towel, or rug under your pedal area the screws can be lowered into that surface. This prevents it from moving much. This means that this is not permanently affixed to any floor or board. It should be able to be moved.

**Q: Does anyone know if it is compatible with Roland TD modules? Thanks!**
A: Ihave it to Yamaha set, but I dont know if it works whith Roland, I sugest you ask in Roland and Yamaha support sites.
