By the way, I cook them in the microwave.** A: I think for a very long time.I buy a big pack and eat it for few months, and the taste doesn't change.We also cook it in microwave for 50 sec each **Q: Is the asafoetida used in the papad gluten free? because i know that asafoetidas are not gluten free.** A: There is no way of knowing for sure. The asafoetida I use at home does contain wheat flour (as the last ingredient in the compound), so I'd imagine the actual amount in the papads would be no more than a trace. Rather than go for the 20-pack, perhaps it might be wise to order a single pack which costs more, but it'll give you an opportunity to test for sensitivity before investing in a large supply.
