When purchasing a tarp it is important to note the “cut size” vs. the “finished size”. Our DRY TOP brand Medium Duty and Heavy Duty tarps are cut larger so they finish to a full size. The industry standard is that tarps are cut and then finish up to 1’ shorter on each side after closing seams and hemming. For example, an industry standard 5’x7’ is rough cut at that size and finishes approximately 6” shorter. That’s almost 20% shorter than the listed size after it’s finished! Make sure your tarp is a DRY TOP tarp for a FULL FINISHED SIZE. DRY TOP Medium Duty tarps are a dual laminated, 10x8 weave, polyethylene woven tarp. These tarps have rope reinforced hems, rust-resistant aluminum grommets on corners and approximately every 36”, heat-sealed seams and hems and are a full finished size (+/- 3%). Available in 25 sizes and either blue or brown/green reversible colors. Always make sure that your tarps are securely tied down. Do not allow product to “flap” in the wind as this will drastically reduce the life of the product. Covered items should be adequately ventilated at all times. Keep product away from fire, as it will ignite and burn if brought into contact with an open flame. From the Manufacturer This Silver/Brown reversible polyethylene tarp is a full finished size opposed to other "cut size" tarps. The super heavy duty polyethylene material is 5.5 oz./sq.yrd., 14 by 14 cross weave, laminated on both sides, and UV treated for maximum weatherproofing and tear resistance. High strength rust resistant grommets on each industrial capped corner and approx. every 18-Inch around the perimeter along with a rope-reinforced hem add to this tarps long lasting durability. This is a great multi-purpose tarp that can be used around the house and/or work place.

Review: A heavy, sturdy plastic tarp. - From what I can tell, this is a double layered tarp. Heavy duty for a plastic tarp. Significantly heavier than the blue tarps you can buy at all of your local box stores. I purchased exclusively to use as a footprint for our family tent to protect the floor pf the tent from getting holes in it due to rocks, sticks and other debris. The grommets seem sturdy enough and the stitching is without flaws. It's been out twice so far and the tarp is doing the job that I purchased it to do. My hope is that this will last at least a decade ... hopefully more. If it does that, I will have gotten my money's worth. Time will tell. Something to be aware of: The size listed is the finished size. It sticks out beyond my tent floor about 1 inch all the way around. I end up setting it up with a fold through the middle in both directions so that the tent is completely covering the edges of the tarp by about 1 to 1 1/2 inches all the way around.
Review: Probably overkill for my use, but works well, seems rugged and well-made - Currently using this to cover the ground in my back yard when I set up a play pool for my dogs. We live in the desert so this tarp is doing a few different things for us. Keeps us from dealing with dirt, rocks, potential mud, stickers or cactus spines, and provides a designated area for play. Easy to hose down when we were done, let dry in the sun, and then fold up to place in the garage. Hoping it holds up against the blistering sun for multiple seasons.

Update after 10 months: We have just gotten another of these tarps to replace the first one. After 10 months on top of the swimspa cover, baking in the sun a lot, getting snow brushed off of it, it began to disintegrate, and rightfully so. I have NO problem replacing this periodically, becaues it saves us from paying $1200.00 for a new set of covers. Initial post: We purchased this tarp to cover our swimspa cover. It sure beats paying one - two grand for a new swimspa cover! It is now over the swimspa cover, attached with bungie cords, very easy to fold up for taking off the covers and using the swimspa. It will keep the coming fall rains (and our sporadic winter snows) from soaking into my very decrepit spa cover, and hopefully get another year or more out of my cover. If I have to replace this tarp a couple of times in the meantime, it will be worth it. But it is VERY nice, reinforced corners, grommets every 18", reversible so in the summer I can let the light side reflect the sun OFF, and in the winter let the dark side help keep the water warm by soaking in the sunshine. It is just perfect.
