Also it is realistic (in terms of functional parts.)" It was a challenge to put it together, but he was able to work through it in two days almost entirely on his own. The play value is good, however, like all lego sets, the scale is small so it is hard to get even little hands inside the rooms and move things about. However, this is merely a matter of personal taste. I like the larger scale and more artistic sculpting of Mega Bloks (a compatible company) and then to integrate the smaller detailed pieces from Legos to hybridize the sets for a more creative experience. If one were to take the Monster Fighter Vampyre Castle and (for example) mount it on top of the Mega Bloks Dragon's Sorcerers Lair, this might make for a very creative hybrid set. Since I haven't tried this particular arrangement and don't know if it will work well, it is a play at your own risk suggestion. However, we have had great fun hybridizing the the Mega Bloks Vorgan Ice Fang Ship and Dragon Mountain sets to add the small precision Lego pieces and accessories that Mega Bloks doesn't have enough of. I just regret not 'kragle"- ing it because I knock it down when dusting and since then my son hasn't show the enthusiast to re-build it. I think re-building is not really a thing for lego fanatics - my son has since used the pieces to build his creations combining from different sets but I haven't gotten him to put this thing together...What you should expect from lego sets is that they are expensive, they are fun to build, fun to destroy, fun to create something completely different, but never fund to put all pieces in baggies and re-create the same creation later. Speaking as a parent the cost per minute of fun is rather high, but I would still rather buy these than any console game.
