I also considered the North Face, Patagonia and Mountain Hardware versions of a light weight, compactable, and warm down jacket. The prices were similar. It came down to brand/down fill/fit.Some of the reviews about feathers sticking out or nylon material ripping are far-fetched, in my opinion. Yes, the material has the potential to rip (as with any jacket), but I believe a statement to its fragility would have to do more with how its owner treats it. I recently purchased this, but believe it to be durable and functional so I cannot attest to a statement. These are my opinion.I would buy another one.... Years down the line when this one gets old. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Awesome jacket with a major flaw *by R***C on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2014* I am 6'1, 200 pounds, and the jacket fits me well... it's not snug, not loose, just comfortable. It's stylish too. It's a very lightweight jacket that packs a lot of heat. In fact, it's so warm that it's actually uncomfortable to wear when it's warmer than 40 degrees or so.That's the first reason for less than five stars - it's too warm, and with no way to relieve (ie side zippers for ventilation).But the major flaw... the feathers poke through the jacket material. Not a little, a lot. By the third time I wore the jacket, feathers poked through in 5 different spots. And not just seams. A month later it became a joke.Yesterday Arc'teryx said "you could send it in for repair/replacement, but this is our busy period and it will take at least 4 weeks to get it back"....I was excited about my first Arc'teryx jacket, but I'' probably go back to North Face / Patagonia / Outdoor Research after this experience. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good fit - very warm - wish it was a little more snug *by R***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2014* The jacket is very warm and looks great (I have the nighthawk / deep blue color).I am 5' 10" and 175 lbs. I have an athletic build with a waist 32" and a 42 chest and ordered a size "Medium".It fits perfectly on my waist, is a good fit on my chest and shoulders, but the torso is a slight bit loose.If you look at the picture it shows the jacket tapering in significantly at your stomach / midline. However in reality the jacket falls straight down. So it won't give you a european slim cut look if you are wearing it about town but will be a good fit regardless. If you use it for winter hiking or a layer for skiing then you won't have any complaints.
