I have been using these boxes for about two weeks now and they are better than I thought! They are made out of a nice thick plastic that does not get scorching hot after being microwaved, giving a nice barrier from the contents and your hand when carrying. I have microwaved several tomato sauce items in these and they have not gotten stained red!!! We’ve made kids’ school lunches in them five days a week for three years with no major issues. The lids are showing some wear, but don’t be like my husband and slice strawberries on the lids and you likely won’t find that a problem.Update in 2021 -- I'm returning to purchase more as some of the lids have cracked and we are down to just a handful. For a product that reminds me of "disposable"-style containers, these have stood up well to the dishwasher and lunchboxes. I will say when I pack it a little heavier for my husband (12hr shifts) It is sometimes difficult to get the lid to snap on- but it always does!
