The blow molded plastic top has a better strength-to-weight ratio than solid plastic or wood tables, is UV protected to withstand sunlight during outdoor use, and can withstand heat up to 212 degrees F so it won't be damaged by hot plates or coffee cups. The surface is lightly textured to increase scratch resistance, but is still smooth enough to write on. The gray steel legs are powder coated for corrosion resistance. When the legs are opened, snap locks engage automatically to keep them opened, releasing with a push button for folding. It is a true 60" in diameter, which is not the case with all manufacturers. Table seems sturdy, I like the legs and the brackets--they seem like they will stand the test of time. We'll see how the seams hold up.Tried ordering several of these tables. Wanted to add stock and end up with around 20. But the shipper Amazon used (Pilot) is absolutely horrendous. That's the reason for the 3 star review.Pilot makes you schedule a delivery--perfect I thought. Although if they aren't going to make your scheduled window they don't call. Days can go by and they won't contact you! I had to get Amazon involved because regardless of numerous calls into Pilot they got me nothing....I chalked that up to a one time mistake. It seats 6 comfortably around the 60in table with plenty of elbow and leg room (save the bit of tightness at the leg supports for the table). I think I could sit 8 with no issues really and still have plenty of serving space. I use this table now primarily for board and card games and it is a perfect fit for that function.
