The problem was part one was a complete how to and part two was named part two, but held some crucial information that might have saved me from destroying the wii remote. I am giving 4 stars since I most likely would have been successful if I had watched the part 2 before starting. I always watch a how to video several times before I start. I have found this step to be a crucial one for success. Since part 1 was complete and showed the entire process from start to finish I didn't even know there was a part two by the same you tube guy. If I had watched part two I would have known a few particularly important steps or cautions: one being the tiny ribbon next to the biggest ribbon at the top- that one and another tiny ribbon on the right upper side are extremely delicate. The grey"cover" you need to flip up to place the ribbon in place are extremely, EXTREMELY delicate- you need to be like a Cardiothoracic surgeon when you flip them up. Both of the covers broke off - so I wasn't able to successfully replace the screen. I tried the few fix-it's I found online- and actually came across the part two of the video I had watched with a search of"how to fix the ribbon cover "- where the dude watns you of how very delicate you have to be. I tried both of the fix it's- with no succcess. I suggest maybe offering a link to both the videos (I'll link them) to be included with the package when it is sent. It was so disappointing to go thru all the steps(this is not an easy fix - I found replacing the hdmi screen on my apple computer easier-)- there are so many plugs and tiny ribbons - I strongly urge those with no experience to enlist the aide of a tech savvy friend to do the fixing - I am reasonably skilled in replacing tech. Things as long as there are clear directions with videos or pictures- I'm good. Unfortunately not good enough to foresee how delicate a cover is on a teeny tiny ribbon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works well but item looked used upon opening. *by K***H on Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2021* Everything worked just as listed. Took about 30 minutes to install. While the touchscreen looked brand new the lcd looked used . It had sticker residue on the back and tons of scratches on the bezel. The lcd screen you see after install itself was flawless. So while I would recommend this item as a working product if you want new I would look elsewhere. You will most likely need to calibrate the touchscreen after install. Once done it works great. Remember the touch screen is glass not plastic like the original. So it will break easier and have a different feel unless you used the included screen protector. It is clearly listed as such in the listing so I don’t see this as a negative. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Fully functional replacement, but missing trim piece. *by N***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2017* I bought to replace a cracked LCD and digitizer. Followed instructions from ifixit dot com. The set is missing one part, a little black frame trim piece that is glued to the digitizer, but it is fully functional without it, but the glass piece is a little exposed around the edge. You could probably remove this piece from the one you are replacing with some heat, but it was stuck pretty good, so I opted not to do it. The LCD and digitizer are separate but the digitzer comes with adhesive on it so you can put them together just like it is in the gamepad. It is a little tricky ot line up, but I got it on the first shot. It would be nice if they were already together. Overall I am very happy, the part works well, so if you are thinking of giving it a shot to save paying someone else to do it, I would recommend this set. The tools that came with this set worked well and are all you need, other than some tweezers.
