Review: Time will tell… - I’ve spent a few days with this bag and it’s really good. However, I am not using it for photography (although I REALLY want to throw my Nikon in here). I got this bag because I needed a dedicated bag at work for my laptop and meters (I work datacom). My tool bag doesn’t have room for large cable qualifiers and I don’t need my tools as much as I need my testing equipment. Keeping those things in separate bags reduces the weight on my back when I roll on calls. So far, so good. The good: it’s MASSIVE. I have a Swissgear bag I thought was large. This is bigger. I can fit everything I need and then some in it. 15 inch laptop, 3 large meters, smaller tone arms, fiber tester, label maker, Makita air blower, the works. It’s insane what fits in this bag and it’s great how customizable it is. Everything is organized and everything has its place. It’s well padded and I put my meters on top so the hard shell on the outside helps against impacts. It has a place for everything and I’ve got things in most every place. The padding is quite nice and thick and I feel fairly confident my expensive meters and my laptop are well protected. The included rain cover is a nice touch. The materials are quite nice, not super durable feeling, but everything is well put together and nothing feels particularly cheap. I’m coming from a Klein backpack and a Veto bag though, so this just feels like a nice backpack rather than a piece of equipment. The bad: it’s massive. It takes up a lot of space and it’s very large on your back. Luckily, the straps are super adjustable so you can really dial in a perfect fit, but it will always be a giant backpack. You could do worse in the size department, but this is up there. The materials could be better, I feel like they might not be super durable and I’ll be after another bag eventually since I’m going to be using this bag hard. I also wish that camera backpacks stole a feature from tool backpack, the hard molded bottom. It’s an extra layer of waterproofing and protects the most damaging part of the bag from dirt, mud, water, abrasion. I feel like the little plastic strips on the bottom of this bag are a nice thought, but won’t be anywhere near as effective.
Review: Perfect for the outdoorsman or professional photographer - Now, I'm no professional photographer, but I do own a Canon 30D with a 200mm Tamron lens, a 50mm lens, a 35mm Canon A1 film camera with a lens on it, and two other lenses for it as well. This backpack holds all of them perfectly with extra space for my film autowinder, extra rolls of film, and other extra little gear like tripod attachments, camera straps, and remotes. This thing is incredible. I got this backpack because I was tired of having camera equipment lying around because it wouldn't fit in my smaller bag. I wanted to be able to store everything in one spot and be able to know where everything is. I also wanted a backpack I can grow into, so I needed one with extra space for when I upgrade my camera body and buy additional lenses. This has everything and more. I had spinal fusion surgery a little under 5 years ago to correct scoliosis and I have 15 of my vertebrae fused. Ever since then, finding a backpack that doesn't cause me serious amounts of back pain has been a challenge, which sucks because I'm an avid hiker and carry heavy gear on those hikes. Because of the ability to adjust the tops of the straps on the backpack, as well as there being a chest strap and waist belt, I can have my backpack fully loaded, weighing well over 15 pounds, and I get zero back pain. Everything is fully adjustible, which is a dream. I also get a lot of neck pain because it is pretty much the only part of my spine I can move and bend, and there is always a lot of tension there. The included caribiner straps on the shoulder straps are amazing! I hook my film camera to it and it takes the weight off of my neck, which eliminates the need for a strap for it all together. I never would have thought of ever wanting something like that, but it was such a smart move. The laptop pocket is a little bit cramped when fully loaded, even for my 13 inch 2022 Macbook Air, which is already pretty slim, however I love the secrecy of where it's located and how to access it. The extra storage compartments within the backpack are amazing too, I keep extra Canon A1 batteries, film, and my CF card reader in those compartments. Though I haven't traveled with it just yet, I can already tell it will replace my regular backpack on more hiking centric trips. I can put both my film and digital cameras in the bottom compartment, and remove the top padding to put toiletries, clothes, and other electronic items in there. I think it would be too big to put under the seat on a plane, however it might on a bigger plane. If you're American, I definitely recommend having TSA pre-check so you don't have to unload this entire bag on the conveyer belt when in the security line, haha. The tripod slots on the side are incredibly smart. You can either put the legs into the cup holder itself, or there's a little pouch that comes out of the waist belt that can also hold the tripod legs. There are three ways of strapping it in that way, one clip strap at the top, and two adjustible ones at the middle and bottom. If you configure it correctly, you could also fit a gimble, gorilla pod, and even a drone on the side of this backpack. This configuration is on both sides of the backpack too, which is great if you want a gimble and a tripod, or a tripod and a drone, or anything you can think of. I haven't needed the extra waist bag, but it can hold an additional camera body plus a lens or two in it. It's great if you need the space, but I think it's a little bit extra for what I need the backpack for. Overall, this backpack is amazing quality and has amazing back support. I anticipate having no issues traveling with this, and it hold all of my equipment and then some. I highly recommend it for the photographer hobbyist, avid nature photographer, professionals, or anybody who just loves a good backpack (myself included). I didn't know a hybrid hiking / camera bag existed, but now I can reserve my 15L hiking backpack, with no padding for my camera (which I would literally just throw in there with a hoodie around it as padding), as a camping bag and just use this, which will keep my camera protected from myself and the elements. This thing also comes with a rain cover to make it fully waterproof. If you are considering other bags as an option, don't. You won't find anything better than this.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can anyone confirm if this bag is carry on size and also fits under the airline seat storage space?**
A: 14x18x8 is the cut off for under the seat on Frontier Airlines (the strictest I have ever had the displeasure of flying with).

**Q: Is this backpack okay to travel with as a carry-on?**
A: Yes. It fits in the overhead easily on the 737s. It will also fit int the overhead on the smaller prop plane, the Bombardier Q400, as long as it's not overstuffed. And it comes with an array of padded pieces that you can position anywhere in the backpack to protect your gear.

My laptop even fits in a hard-to-find pocket inside the backpack. Access the laptop pocket from inside the top pouch of the backpack; the laptop slides down inside the back of the backpack. It's a good idea to have your laptop protected in its own small, padded zip case (you need to provide this; it does not come with the pack).

I needed to take the laptop out of the backpack to fit the pack in the overhead on the prop plane.

This is a great backpack for my camera gear, and it had lots of pockets and pouches for all sorts of other carry-on items. It has fairly comfortable shoulder straps, and it has a waist strap to help with the weight. I definitely recommend it.

**Q: Is the divider between the top and bottom compartments removable? What are the dimensions of the top compartment?**
A: The divider between the top and bottom can be removed because the divider is fixed by HOOK & LOOP. The interior size of top compartment is 12"x7"x10".

**Q: I'm 5' 11" 245lbs with broad shoulders. Would this bag work for me?**
A: I'm 6 foot and 185 lbs and it works fine. It p s narrower than I am use to wearing a common backpack. Straps are comfortable for me. If you have very wide shoulders it might not be so comfortable for many hours of use. Storage is very flexible but there will never be enough unless you are a minimalist.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally found the perfect camera bag
*by A***R on June 12, 2025*

This is my 4th camera bag, and I hope will be the last. My first one I held onto for several years, and I still like it. But it was missing several features like side pouches (which help with tripods, water bottles, etc). Just over a month ago I purchased another, while it was nice styling & construction, it was just too small. Perfect for smaller APS-C body & lens, not so much for full frame. First thing I did was tested this bag with 2x camera bodies (FF & APS-C), 200-600, 100-400, 35-150, 16-35mm lens....and I still had comfortable space putting in a spare batteries, action camera, misc accessories, and still had more room left! I had been traveling with a separate case just for the 200-600mm lens. My previous bag was always filled to the limits. The entire backpack itself is amazingly not heavy. I tried it on with full gear backed and was happy to find this is a bag I can travel with. The only con would be just a personal preference and something that does not mark against the bag; I would certainly not complain to have pockets on the side. The bag I recently purchased had full size pockets on the side with the pouches just outside of the pocket lid. Nice convenience that most will not care for, but if they added that in the future I would probably buy another. The extra small bag that inserts into the bottom section is easily attached to the backpack in the event lenses fill up that pocket. I realize that will be a nice addition to put smaller stuff in, and to have that with me at my seat on the plane (and not the whole backpack!). The bottom of the backpack does have some hardened rubberized strips which is nice. The biggest selling point to my previous primary bag was the hardened shell which allowed for setting it on the ground.
