When burning paper was extinguished and heavier smoke came out, it beeped. Beep is loud and sharp, so should alert me, wake me up. Took out the battery before installing it. With no battery, the unit managed to give low-battery chirping sound for 3-4 times, which is good. ______ Cons : Fitting the alarm on to the base plate is difficult, as there are only two clamping spots you waste lot of time standing on the ladder trying to get it fixed. A: No, it does not make any such claim. The description says, "When the chamber is filled with a certain density of smoke, it immediately raises an Alert". Smoke can be detected by a light sensitive device, because, it would obstruct the light falling on the sensor, but Carbon Monoxide is colourless and so, can not be detected by a light sensitive device.

**Q: What will be battery life?**
A: Device is not functioning correctly it started making noise anytime without any smoke, battery life is fine will work 1-1.5 yrs.

**Q: Is it Ionization smoke detector**
A: Not this one. that is another one Make Apollo

Pro : Recd it 1 day back. Tested it with smoke from burning paper, it did not start up. When burning paper was extinguished and heavier smoke came out, it beeped. Beep is loud and sharp, so should alert me, wake me up. Took out the battery before installing it. With no battery, the unit managed to give low-battery chirping sound for 3-4 times, which is good. ______ Cons : Fitting the alarm on to the base plate is difficult, as there are only two clamping spots you waste lot of time standing on the ladder trying to get it fixed. Durability : Dont know yet, will update Battery usage speed : Do not know, will update it after 6 month and 1 year again

The product doesn’t work. Requested a replacement. Delivery guy came today.. I was not at home. Now Amazon is saying that I need to do it again… it’s impossible to connect with customer care Amazon… it seems my money would go waste.
