It might be a little difficult staining, but I wouldn't imagine it would be too bad. This stuff is amazing. Take some before and after pictures, because nobody will believe you when you tell them they are the same chairs. I used the light wood, with a dark stain. Came out fantastic. The light wood Retique It, lets some imitation grain to show through as you wipe a darker stain off. Very cool. **Q: Can you describe difference colors in ebony stain vs kona stain?** A: Hello, ebony stain has more of a black appearance and Mona stain has a chocolate or deep brown appearance. **Q: Can you use it on a bathroom countertop?** A: Yes, you can. I would just make sure to seal it with something more durable than a typical poly. I did 3 coats. Then 2 coats of the dark walnut Varathane 349560 Premium Gel Stain, Half gel stain.
