Review: Great camera and results - The Matterport Pro 2 takes great interior images. The only drawback is that you can't do tours outside during bright times of the day. You can still do 360 shots and link them to your tour, but you won't be able to create an exterior tour. Some users have had luck taking exterior tour shots early in the morning or at dusk but I haven't tried that yet. I use the matterport in combo with a year old Samsung tablet. From what I've read, you get the fastest processing when using it with an Ipad pro and can shave off around 30 seconds per shot.

I was using other 360 cameras to complete Matterport Tours and I had some clients ask about quality issues (resolution and layout of the 3D model). Since getting the Matterport Pro2 Camera, I've been amazed at how great the scans look. Huge upgrade and well worth the money. Not to mention, less errors. The 360 cameras used to throw up a ton of alignment errors while scanning causing for an unnecessary amount of time wasted. Now, I only get an error maybe 1 out of every 100 scans or so. I can't say enough about this camera!! If you're on the fence, get it.

**Q: Does this involve any kind of subscription service to utilize its features**
A: Matterport notoriously scrapes your customer's data from images and calls or emails your customer to offer better services for a cheaper price, essentially stealing your customers. Highly recommend anything else.  It was the deciding factor for me to go with the theta z over the matterport pro 2 (besides the cost savings and no subscription).

**Q: Can you use any tripod or do you need to use a specific one?**
A: No, there's not a specific tripod to use but don't cheap out and get one that is too dinky for the task. You want to ensure that your scans will be stable and not shaky.  And of course you'll be moving it around a lot so best to get a high quality tripod that will last

**Q: Does it provide height information of the room and alle measurements or only pictures?**
A: The Measurements functionality gives users the ability to share measurements taken in a Matterport 3D digital twin with anyone, allowing them to accurately measure rooms, windows, doors, or furniture with a simple click or tap on a PC or mobile device. This new capability gives customers an invaluable tool for sharing vital information of spaces or objects within a Matterport digital twin. The potential for smarter space planning, utilization, and collaboration for the built world is enormous. Measurements in Matterport are generally accurate to within 1% of reality under normal operating conditions. Decalibration, abnormal temperatures, and other factors may result in reduced accuracy. **Q: I contacted Matterport 2x via email, they keep flooding my inbox with a ton of messages, but none answering my question: Is this only for realtors?**
A: I am an architect who uses the Matterport to generate accurate existing conditions building information models. The realtor function is more general, we use the Matterpack add-on for the point cloud. We also share the 3d navigable image to our mechanical, electrical, structural, and plumbing engineers for improved engineering coordination and contractor pricing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great 3D Camera - needs a subscription to Matterport

I routinely achieve high quality results with this 3D Camera. Quick and easy to use, each scan takes 20-30 seconds and your ready to move to the next point. Doorways are a bit tricky and should always be open when shooting and moving through a space. Incredible battery life over 8 hours on a full charge. Requires an iPad of iPhone to operate and capture pictures which are than transmitted to Matterport for final processing. This camera does have some heft and I highly recommend a nice hard case such as a Nanuk case. While shooting the iPad connects directly to the Camera's internal hotspot for uninterrupted communication. Couldn't be more pleased with this product.
