## Questions & Answers

**Q: how do you install this product?**
A: The short answer is: "If you have to ask, have a mechanic do it". I'm not trying to be cheeky (...well maybe a little :o)...) It's actually a fairly straightforward operation, but having worked as a mechanic years ago I can tell you there is a bit of "feel" to this kind of stuff that is not easily conveyed in written instructions, the lack of which can cause considerably more damage than you set out to fix. Of course I have no idea what your level of experience is, so forgive me if I'm assuming too much. If after reading the foregoing warning/disclaimer you still want to do it yourself, here are the basic steps:1. Make sure the engine/cooling system is completely cold before removing the radiator cap (overlooking this step could put you in the hospital).2. Put a drain pan under the area you will be working to catch any spillage when you disassemble the filler neck.3. Identify the filler neck retaining clip on your car (the plastic "c" shaped clip you see in the picture with the filler neck). It's installed around the filler neck body where it connects to your radiator. Take note of its position because you will need to put the new one back in the same place.4. Remove the radiator cap and hoses from the filler neck and pry off the retaining clip with a couple of small screw drivers or picks... this is probably going to take a little fiddling.5. Once the clip is off, gently wiggle/rotate and pull the filler neck off the radiator. Depending on how dirty, corroded or just plain stuck the old one is, you may need to apply moderate pressure... proceed with caution as you could potentially break the connector tube off of the radiator itself, which would pretty much ruin your day.6. Once the old neck is off, clean up the connector tube on the radiator and inspect for cracks, corrosion or dings that might prevent it from sealing to the new neck. The new neck has an O-ring inside of it, which will indicate which areas you should pay particular attention to.7. Lubricate the O-ring in the new filler neck with fresh coolant and slip on the new locking ring as you saw it on the original before disassembly. You'll notice that the inside edge or the clip is tapered on one side... this side faces towards the radiator.8. Use gentle to moderate pressure (all warnings in step 5 apply) to push the new filler neck assembly onto the radiator connector tube. If the clip is properly positioned, the radiator connector tube will force the new clip to open as you push it on and the clip will snap into place when the filler neck is fully inserted. A clean radiator connection helps this step go more smoothly.9. Confirm the new filler neck is fully inserted, firmly clipped in place and can't be pulled back off.10. Re-attach the two rubber hoses and top up the radiator with fresh coolant.11. Install the radiator cap, review step 9, start your engine and run it up to temperature.12. Once the cooling system is pressurized (radiator hose gets hard and hot), check for leaks around the new filler neck. 13. If everything looks good, top up the coolant overflow bottle and shut the engine off. As the engine cools, the radiator will pull more coolant in as needed, so you may need to adjust the level in the overflow bottle once more after everything cools off.14. You're all done... be sure to check it occasionally to make sure it doesn't start leaking.A couple of notes: As your engine heats up, you'll want to keep an eye on the temperature gauge. It's normal for it to go above half before the radiator fans cycle on, run for a few minutes, then cycle off again (temp guage will probably read a little below half when the fans cycle off). Make sure your air conditioner is turned off during this procedure because it will interfere with the radiator fan operation. If the fans don't come on, or they come on but don't go off again, and the temperature continues to rise, you may have gotten an air pocket behind your thermostat, preventing it from opening. If that happens, shut the engine off, let it cool completely, open the radiator cap and top off the coolant, then try again. If it heats up again, shut it off and let it sit overnight, check the coolant level in the radiator (not the overflow bottle) and try again. You can also turn the heater on high (still without the A/C) to help get the air out if it persists. Depending on your motor, you may have a bleed screw on or near the thermostat housing. If that is the case, you can crack that screw open while the engine is still running cold. Keep the screw open until any air has been forced out and coolant begins to come out, and then tighten the screw back down again. If you only drained off enough coolant to change the filler neck, you should not have these kinds of problems, but you should be aware of and watching for them any time you do cooling system work.Good Luck!

**Q: Does it come with the clip?**
A: Yes, come with the clip, good fit, does job well! Recommended

**Q: How to install clip without it instantly snapping in half.**
A: In my experience of installing the one I did, I just slid it in the groove and pushed it in (Since it's a pressure clip). It's designed not to snap. If you want to spray some silicone onto the grove to make it slide and clip itself into place is not a bad idea either.

**Q: does this work for a 2007 toyota sienna radiator?**
A: Im not sure of the fit for your Sienna, but I do know that it worked flawlessly on my 08 RX 350-- my best guess would be yes, if the Sienna and RX share the same radiator cap then why not.
